Reviews for THE YORK HOTEL, WESTON-SUPER-MARE

Just spent three nights at The York over new year. Downstairs as we walked into the hotel looked fine apart from the fact that there wasn’t a sofa or armchair to sit on. Literally, no lounge area - Just dining chairs- and that was also the case in the bedroom so no real comfort. Our room was very poor. A clean bed - as expected, but the furniture was old and badly damaged. And the ceiling and walls had undergone some awful repair work. The walls were an awful grey colour wood chip wallpaper. There were holes in the chipboard headboard and on the walls, no curtains - just old brown blinds, which didn’t even work properly. I could say more but bog basic comes to mind. Their saving grace was the lovely staff, good food and quite nice entertainment each night over the New Year celebrations. Needless to say we won’t be staying there again.

For a 3 star hotel The York is great. Our room was super and clean with a refurbished bathroom and sea views. The staff was very welcoming and gave great service during our Christmas stay. Rooms: We have a superior room which was spacious and really good.

Beautiful seaside hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are nice, TV is small but the beds are comfy. Right across the street from the pier! A little difficult to get luggage up the first set of steps but then there's a lift. Nice covered sitting room and patio. Great location, tons to do. Staff was so nice, gave us ice and let us borrow silverware. And made us delicious deserts!

My wife and I did not stay here, but we met up with my sister and Brother-in-Law for a lunchtime meal. Initially we sat outside but it started to get a bit windy so we moved inside. They have a dining room where they allow dogs, which was good, as my sister has a dog. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, the service and the food were good. We were all happy with our meals. They had no hand-pump beers available, but they did have some nice bottled beers. A large TV, with sound on, was in the dining room which was a little distracting. But as there was only one other couple in the room, maybe they would have turned the sound down, or turned the TV off, if we had asked. For dog owners, I would definitely recommend dining here if its a bit too cold to sit outside with your dog.

Lovely hotel. Large family room. Quiet even though we were right on the sea front. Great location for the Pier. We ate here in the evening with two adults and a 9 year old sharing the fish platter. It was delicious and huge!! After seeing a show at the Playhouse we went back to the hotel bar for a quiet drink. Bar staff on that night were very pleasant and friendly Breakfast the next morning was excellent, cereals, toast and a cooked breakfast you could help yourself too. Lots to choose from and all cooked perfectly. Would strongly suggest booking direct as we went through a booking company as we were looking last minute so thought it would be easier but they didn't take into account our 9 year old even though we said 3 people and his age. Luckily the hotel had a room big enough with a double and single bed, understandably this did cost a tiny bit more than what we had paid. Would recommend and definitely would stay again (booking direct!) Excuse the mess in pic of room! Rooms: Lovely large family room. Sofa and table and chairs. Food & drinks: Both were delicious

Haven't stayed here, but have eaten here a few times. Good value meals with excellent service and a good view. I sat outside as I had my dog with me and they provide water for your dog. Great place. Would recommend trying it.
