Been shopping here for years, by far the best place around for all your outdoor and active requirements. All the clothes are top quality and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and very helpful, If you’re not sure about a certain product there’s always someone knowledgeable on hand to guide you in the right direction. Anyone looking to get kitted up for any outdoor activities then get on down there and take a look around, it’s a great shop with lots on offer and you’ll be supporting a local business too!

Sadly only a one star rating due to the rudeness and dishonesty of the staff. Spent over an hour choosing/discussing/taking advice on how best to care for the boots which I had every intention of doing as the boots were almost 200£. Purchased the recommended socks as advised as well. Three weeks later I returned the boots due to a fault with the material I believed. Apparently the owner told me within that three week period I had trashed the boots. I had worn them for an hour round the park and an hour round the woods everyday for the three weeks. I have never trashed a pair of shoes in my life! The owner gleefully ran out the back and then presented me with an identical boot he apparently has had for over 15 years, poured water over the boot and told me that this is how my boot should look. Unbelieveable. The original lady who sold me the boots advised after listening for what I was needing/using them for, walking the dog twice a day, that I would need to wax the boots monthly. Three weeks is all the time I had with the boots. The owners wife felt the boots and said that they were soaked through. Not true! In the three weeks of wearing the boots I never experienced wet socks. Their tactics/excuses of making me feel that I had done something wrong when all I did was accept the advice from their own staff member who sold me the boots. This particular boot comes with a two year warranty which clearly the shop owners didn't want to honor. All happy to take my money but unreasonable to resolve the issue. Awful experience. Never again will I shop here.

30 degrees outside. Came from Birmingham to visit the beach, t-shirt got dirty and thrown in bin. I went to the shop with intentions to buy a multi tool for my girlfriend. Was denied access because I didn't have a shirt on. There's no law stating a man can't walk around shirtless and there was no sign on the door stating this. Clearly staff wanted to be problematic and have lost a customer because of it.

Review Russ from appleradio.co.uk says......if its the great outdoors that is your thing then this retailer is a must visit. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff makes shopping for the right items easy. Extensive range of products and all at competitive prices.

Another excellent time with all the staff at Outdoor and Active. While shopping for shoes for my son and I, we enjoyed some lovely home made cake for someone's birthday. Happy Birthday 🎈. Look forward to seeing you all again.

Great shop. Nothing is to much trouble. I brought a top quality pair of walking shoes there and they made sure they fitted perfectly before I left the shop. I will certainly be back and can throughly recommend it.

Extremely friendly place to shop! Obviously the Covid situation was being taken seriously here, I was heartened by the "filter system", only a few folks in at a time.. Had a good browse around at the wide range of outdoor kit, coming out with exactly what I needed, a new pair of socks.. I was in the market for a new camping tarp too, of a particular size, next time maybe..... I appreciated the knowledgeable friendly chat, I got the impression that the staff engage with the Big Outdoors too, which is helpful in many ways, swapping a few anacdotes about my trip on part of Route 66 in America.. Worthy of your time, as a novice or experienced outdoorsy type, a good shop..!

Stumbled across this wonderfully stocked store with knowledgeable staff, I have just started to gather kit for a 6 month long hiking trip, and now I have a new favourite shop! Few of my purchases below :)

Visited this shop today while staying in Weston. Needed walking shoes for upcoming holiday. Staff extremely helpful, knowledgeable and spent much time (and patience) helping me with the correct fit and style for me. I could have got them cheaper shoes, but they have to be comfortable to be in all day and everyday, and you get what you pay for. Thank you. Excellent service
